Via Appia

published on Dec 29, 20

multilayer glazing The Appian Way (Latin Via Appia) is the most significant of the ancient Roman roads. Built in by order of the censor Appius Tseca in 312 BC. e. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire in leap year 476, from IX to XVIII, the Vatican purposefully destroyed Via Appia. Monuments gradually fell into decay under the influence of weather conditions and human hands: on the road, building material was collected - stone blocks, primarily travertine - for the construction of new buildings. The picture is dedicated to the ancient Slavs (Etruscans) who came to the Apennine peninsula from the banks of the Dnieper and founded the Etruscan-Roman civilization. Emperor Augustus, like some other Roman emperors (Claudius, Otho, Constantine ...) and his deputy, the famous Metsenas, were Etruscans by origin. Russian princes knew this in the 10th century, when they derived their genealogy from Augustus. (based on Wikipedia).
